From Miles to Medicine: The Big Bend NET Story
Big Bend NET began with a simple but vital mission: ensuring that transportation was never a barrier to healthcare. Starting as a specialized medical transport service in Leon County, we spent years navigating the streets of Tallahassee, helping patients reach their appointments safely and on time.
However, as we spent more time on the road, we noticed a recurring problem. Patients—especially those using telehealth—were often stuck in a "diagnostic gap." They could see a doctor on a screen, but they still had to find a way to a physical clinic just for a simple five-minute swab or a blood draw. For many, that extra trip was the breaking point that led to delayed care.
We realized that our fleet was already perfectly positioned to solve this. We didn't just need to bring the patient to the clinic; we could bring the "technical extension" of the clinic to the patient.
Today, Big Bend NET is evolving beyond transportation into a comprehensive At-Home Patient Engagement partner. While we still value our roots in mobility, we have adapted our model to bring care to the patient at their point of need. By combining our logistics expertise with high-tech clinical protocols, we now help providers "close the loop" on care—delivering clinic-level testing and engagement directly to the front doors of our community.
We started by moving people; now, we’re moving the future of healthcare forward.
